Getting my driving record online

Driving records are available online for Alaskans. The fee is $10. Driving records can convey the story of your skills and experience. You may choose one of the following summaries of your driving record:

  • Full Individual Record – shows current driving record status and includes all convictions, license actions, and at-fault accidents on record; includes full medical certification details for commercial (CDL) drivers.
  • Insurance Record - shows current driving record status and 3 or 5-year history of convictions*, license actions, and at-fault accidents required for vehicle insurance purposes. Excludes any medical certification information on record.
    (*3 or 5-year reporting requirement is based on the type of conviction or action)
  • CDL Employment Record – shows current driving status, full medical certification information, convictions, license actions, and at-fault accident
    information as required by DOT regulations for commercial (CDL) drivers. CDL drivers MUST select this type of record if for CDL employment purposes.

Release your record to another

You may allow your employer or others to receive your driving record by submitting this form: Request for Driving Record (Form 419), submit to doa.dmv.research@alaska.gov and we'll email you or your designee an electronic invoice for the fee of $10.

Companies may get group records

Submit this form: COMPANY RELEASE FOR MULTIPLE DRIVING RECORDS, to doa.dmv.research@alaska.gov and we'll email you or your designee an electronic invoice for the fee of $10 each.

Can I get the driving records for another person?

Because driver's license records are confidential, you may only obtain your record unless you have consent to obtain a record for another person.
